Description
The Hopeful People and The Bridge to Nowhere
This is one of my projects for Chris Woods' Drawing II class at NSCAD, in Halifax, NS. The assignment was for us to do studies of perspective - which we did outside on train tracks - and then somehow turn our studies into a fantasy landscape. The train tracks have grain elevators above them because they are in a major shipping area. I took my image of this, changed the style of buildings, and submerged the train tracks in water.
This image took me a week in a half to complete of almost constant work after class; I would stay at the Port campus after class instead of going home to Dartmouth, and work till past 11 pm. I believe this was the week where I started losing my marbles, and I couldn't care for more than making this picture, so that was exactly what I did.
India ink on Arches watercolour paper. Pretty ..big.
